ELECT A WORKER
A WORKER
The Who and Why
My name is Mathew Reinhold. I'm a 26 year old working class part of the Wyandotte County community. I am currently a dietary cook at a local assisted living facility. I decided to run because things keep getting worse. Prices keep going up, it is harder and harder to afford to live, and people feel alienated and forgotten. This apathy spills over into community life and community life has suffered and has become more tribal. I don't blame the citizens. We are overworked, tired, and struggling to maintain the lives we have. This is a failure of governance and of our leaders. We need representatives in Topeka who know what it is like to have your boss steal your wages. Who know that there are mothers crying over the latest surprise expense. Who know what it's like to do everything "right" and it not be enough. Politics can't be a game of red good ol' boy vs blue good ol' boys. We need representatives who can make it affordable to live in Kansas. Representatives who are advocating for working folks. Representatives with skin in the game. My main goal in running for office is to show the working folks of Kansas that when they support workers it will make a difference and together we can make a difference. You can run for office, you can change your community, and you can lower your cost of living.
